This Thanksgiving has been one of unexpected challenges for our dear Hurley. Just a day after the holiday, we noticed him struggling to straighten his back and exhibiting instability when standing up. Alarmed, I rushed him to the vet, where, despite pain medication, his condition rapidly declined.

On Saturday morning, a heartbreaking discovery awaited us – Hurley could no longer move his back legs or walk and was in extreme pain. Subsequent visits and an MRI revealed a herniated disc, along with swelling and bruising of the spinal column. Hurley is currently unable to use his back legs and has lost all feeling from the waist down.

In a race against time, I opted for emergency surgery, understanding the slim 50% chance of regaining mobility. As a devoted pet parent, I'm committed to doing everything in my power to help Hurley.
