In loving memory of our beloved Mathis Thomas

Dear Folks of the LA Run community,

I hope you're having a good day so far. I'm reaching out to you because we are  all part of the big running community and most of us run together or have mutual friends that know each other because of running and while we share the same common interests and such, we have built meaningful relationships because of this powerful phenomenon .

My Name is Hakim Tafari and I run with Koreatown Run Club, a long with Kimberly Gomez from Good Vibes Track Club are reaching out to you folks on behalf of our very close friend run community family member Jean Michel Dobaria aka MK, who just completed running 200 miles all across Haiti last month as well as running his first LA marathon and also runs with KRC, GVTC as well as many other run crews in the city.

Reason why we are reaching to you is because in the last few days MK has had some tragic news in which has really left him and his family stunned and in great mourning, MK had received news that his nephew  who was only 14 years of age had committed suicide this weekend and is still trying to process how this all happened and how he can support the family.

 MK is French and most of his family still lives in France and because of how close he is with his family it is a must for him to be there with them in time of this great loss, for support, guidance and of course strength.

This is also a very tough time for him financially and we know it will be difficult for him to find a ticket as well as well as trying to send some financial aid to his family in this process at this moment in time.

MK is such a humble, generous and compassionate person and will do anything for a friend at a drop of a dime, this is why we feel compelled to do this, he would do it for us.
