Hello and welcome to our GoFundMe campaign! We are Alicia and Kevin Stump, the passionate founders of Stump Farms. Our journey began in 2017 when we embarked on a homesteading adventure with a simple goal in mind: to cultivate the highest quality foods while minimizing our environmental impact. Feeding our family & yours... real, pesticide free & locally sourced food!

*Our Vision: *

Recently, we have been presented the opportunity to carry on the service of a local beloved restaurant, "2 Guys Pizza," a fully vegan dining experience that aligns with our ethical beliefs and support a more sustainable future.

Our ultimate dream is to establish farm-to-table vegan dining as well as a specialty retail space that offers natural, affordable, accessible, and sustainable alternatives for everyday foods and products. We also want to create a planet friendly experience for breakfast, brunch & lunch while adding in a market and food education, being a safe space for all. Your assistance can help us make a transition from our leased farming location to a current & successful vegan space where we can make that dream a reality. Our livelihood is fully invested in our equipment and current venture, so a helping hand towards funding is what we will need to make this dream a reality and keep Vegan in Hendersonville! Assistance with our start-up costs can make sure we have a seamless transition since our farm is a family run small business and we will need to hit the ground running to upkeep both operations.

*Stump Farms' Journey: *

In the fall of 2022, we made a significant move from Magnolia, TX, to Hendersonville, NC. Here, we've not only opened an operational warehouse and storefront but have also become active participants in local farmers markets. We've set up an indoor hydroponic urban farm to continue contributing to our community and pursuing our passion by being open to the public & running a CSA program available to our community. This move has unlocked new opportunities for growth, and our range of products is expanding rapidly while we have focused on real food initiatives.

Through farmers markets, online sales, and direct farm interactions, we've been able to share our farm-grown creations and naturally grown produce with our community. One of the most rewarding aspects of our journey has been creating a strong connection between our neighbors and the food they eat with full transparency & education. What started as a small market garden soon expanded to include canned goods, natural herbal skincare, and so much more! We are happy to currently be bringing the residents of Hendersonville, NC farm fresh food available during the week and year-round!

*2 Guys Pizza and A Shift Towards Sustainability: *

Melody and John Crawford, the owners of 2 Guys Planet Friendly Food and Brews, like many others, were shaped by the challenges brought on by the pandemic. However, it also became a time of reflection and transformation. As vegans for 2.5 years, after running a non-vegan operation, they made the ethical choice to reopen as a full Plant-Based restaurant post Covid. Embracing their beliefs, they brought the fully vegan experience to Hendersonville! With many years of successful restaurant experience under their belt, Melody and John have felt fulfilled with their endeavor to create change and would like to keep the flame burning so that the plant-based community they have served will continue to be valued, as well as continue making space for those who wish to make a dietary change.

*The Dream:*

We share their vision for a sustainable, vegan future, and we've poured all our resources into securing this restaurant space to create a unique vegan farm-to-table dining experience in our community. Unfortunately, despite our dedication and the success of Stump Farms, we face challenges securing the necessary down payment and commercial loans due to our relatively short time in North Carolina & expenses to relocate to our new home.

Every dollar raised will go toward the down payment, initial operating costs, hiring and transition for this vegan farm-to-table restaurant. We wish to transition into the existing space and adjust into the farm-to-table concept. To do so, we need time and funding that we have not been able to secure.
