We are raising money to support the creation of a Hupa Language Immersion Nest where babies in our community can be raised in our ancestral language once again. As a result of federal and state government policies, currently the Hupa language is highly endangered with only a few first language speakers, all that are elders. Through this nest and our other Immersion programming, we hope to revitalize the language and work to create new speakers of the language.
