Hi everyone, I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister-in-law, Denielle Hunt, and my brother-in-law, Garrett Hunt, who is only 29 years old. Their lives changed suddenly and drastically, and they truly need help during this terrifying time.
A week ago today, Garrett unexpectedly had a severe seizure at work. It came out of nowhere — he became confused, disoriented, couldn’t recognize anyone, and kept slipping in and out. It was one of the scariest things our family has ever experienced.
He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered a cavernous malformation in his thalamus — a dangerous cluster of abnormal blood vessels deep in the brain. Because of where it is located, surgery is far too risky and could cause paralysis or permanent neurological damage. So for now, all doctors can do is monitor him closely and start him on strong anti-seizure medication twice a day for the rest of his life.
Garrett is not allowed to drive, work, or be left alone, and this may continue for months — or longer, depending on how his condition progresses. He has to get MRIs every 3 months and the earliest appointment to see the specialist is March 2026.
This has placed their family in an impossible position.
Garrett was their sole income. Overnight, their family went from stable to having no income at all. And to make things even harder, Denielle is currently 9 weeks pregnant, caring for Garrett full-time while also caring for their four beautiful children: Parker, Ryker, Riftyn, and Waylen.
They don’t know what the future holds — whether the malformation will grow, whether seizures will increase, or whether surgery might become necessary one day. The uncertainty alone has been overwhelming.
What the funds will help with:
• Rent and utilities
• Groceries and household needs
• Costs for four children + pregnancy
• Medical bills, prescriptions, MRI travel
• Emergency expenses
• Stability as they wait for the specialist
This is a young family suddenly facing something no one could have prepared for. Garrett has always been a hardworking and dedicated father, and seeing him like this has been heartbreaking for all of us.
Any help — big or small — will ease an enormous amount of stress from a family already carrying so much. Even sharing this fundraiser would mean the world.
Thank you for supporting the Hunt family during this incredibly difficult time.
