Hunter *HAD* Cancer (good news!)
My nephew Hunter is 15. He has a testicular tumor that is likely cancer. Today he had the surgery to remove that testicle and tumor.
His parents, James and Jody Collins, will know for sure if it is cancer soon. Subsequent treatment will depend upon the stage of cancer. Fortunately this is a very treatable cancer. However, if it is more serious, he will start chemotherapy as soon as he is healed from this surgery, in about two weeks.
We will post an update as soon as we have any news, and we will increase the amount we're fundraising for based upon what treatment he will need.
This GoFundMe is to help his mother pay the $4400 surgery copay. Jody is a newspaper editor and the sole financial provider for Hunter. Her insurance has a steep deductible and copay for services. The hospital has agreed to take payments, but she needs funds as soon as possible to help allay the tremendous stress any parent is under when their child has such a potentially serious condition.
