Hunter Denman has dedicated his life to emergency services. He has been a 911 Dispatcher at Morgan County 911 for the last three years, he volunteers as a Fire Fighter on the Versailles Rural Fire Protection District, is an EMT, and is Deputy Coroner. Hunter has accomplished all this at just 21 years old. Hunter comes from a family of first responders and public servants, he and his family truly give their all to helping others.

On November 4th, Hunter started experiencing some serious abdominal pain. The following day, he went to the ER and they located a mass in his abdomen. In the weeks that followed, after much testing, he was diagnosed with a Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCTs). This is an extremely rare form of cancer and one that typically strikes young males affecting only about 20 young people in the United States each year. Doctors are wanting to move quickly, and hit this thing hard. He has already received his first round of chemotherapy on 11/21/23. Hunter will have treatments every two weeks. He will not be inpatient during this so Hunter and his parents will be staying in hotels in Kansas City multiple nights in a row for each round of treatment. Radiation and surgery will come next. Hunter is ready to kick this thing's ass! Let's get behind Hunter and his family and show our support!
