This is Hunter, Hunter has tetralogy of fallot, a heart condition that has four defects.
-Pulmonary stenosis
-Right ventricular hypertrophy
-Ventricular septal defect (VSD)
-Over riding aorta
He was diagnosed during pregnancy at our 20 week scan and from that diagnosis we had to attend many appointments in London to monitor his growth and development. Hunter was then delivered in London, St Thomas’ where he spend some time in NICU and then transferred to Evelina cardiac ward. Hunter is only 4 months old and has already show so much resilience towards everything thrown his way. He has been admitted to hospital on different occasions due to his oxygen levels dropping sometimes as low as 69 and requiring oxygen to be administered. Hunter then had a balloon stent put in place to help him, we have had multiple stays in London. We have to take Hunter to London for monthly appointments until he has his open heart surgery and even after that we will still have to take him for checkups as he could require more than one surgery and appointments with his cardiologist will be lifelong. The cost of traveling back and forth London is very expensive especially as we also have a 16 month old! Any help would be so appreciated and we will be so grateful, the help will enable us to travel as a family with ease and help with the cost of our stay in London when Hunter has his open heart surgery! ❤️
