Hi there, I'm Toni.. Hunter's extremely proud Mum.
With a wonder filled chain of events, Hunter has found himself on the U15 Australian team to tour China in July for Futsal.
This is an inspiring story behind the scenes of a young man always giving 100% of himself to his sports and volunteering passions but never quite being an outstanding force, until now!
He captained his school team to victory, trialed and positioned onto a Qld team, then captured the attention and spotlight during the National Schools Futsal comp in Sept 2024 as the North Qld state team GOALKEEPER.
Hardest position on the team, shouldering the load and did it so well. Keeping his head high and his team motivated, they played beyond expectations. Plenty of Fearlessness to balance out the Crazy of a Goalie.
Unfortunately, we've had a few tough months recently, including our home being broken into and burglarised. And a few other big commitments have lead to a tougher financial situation that I had expected. Therefore, I am swallowing my pride and asking for help to get Hunter to China to represent Australia.
I have not wanted to seek personal donations and only applied to local businesses that we have a connection to, however due to the overwhelming support and encouragement for our friends and family, we have decided now is the time to open the adventure team up for anyone else that would like to join us for this journey.
We have a base fee of $5,300 per person, plus other travel expenses including passports, return flights to capital city, expenses while in China plus a bunch of additional equipment and team merch required. Realistically, we are looking at a minimum of $10,000 just for Hunter.
As a goalie, he needs more than just some shin pads and boots.
Did you know? Hunter actually has --
3 different types of Futsal Boots - all with different grips on the soles.
3 different Gloves- indoor / outdoor / light. All needing specialised before and after care with sprays & wash products.
2 sets of knee pads - one thin, one thick. For the different surfaces he will go down to.
Long sleeve Skins for arms & legs - Heavy contact, scrapes, scratches and bruises are collected every game.
Several sizes of Shin Pads also.
Unfortunately, we can't do much about the head or face contact though. That is all just brave insanity on his part.
He also has a separate and addition team uniform as well.
As Hunter does have some medical issues himself, a parent accompanying him is mandatory.
Although our intentions in fundraising is solely targeting his fees and expenses first!!!
If you are uncomfortable donating online and would like to transfer funds directly, we have set up a Commonwealth Bank account especially for his Futsal fundraising efforts. Please contact me for details. This account has zero fees.
Big thanks goes to Ms Jenny C, McCoskers Contracting and Engineering, NRG Industrial, Michelle Laundry, Livingstone Shire Council, JRT Civil and of course Hunter's big brother Lane for supporting the fundraising efforts so far.
Now it's your turn. We'd love for you to jump aboard the Futsal adventure with us to China for the Australian tour in July.
Donations of all amounts accepted via GFM or bank transfer. $5 / $20 / $200 etc... any amount leads to a big amount. We are very grateful and look forward to sharing the journey with you all soon.
Keep an eye out for the Facebook page too.
