As if 2020 wasn’t bad enough, it wouldn’t be complete without everyone’s favorite Springer sweetheart, Hunter, getting seriously injured. Hunter was involved in an accident while doing what she loves, chasing squirrels. She tried to put her acrobatic skills to the test and vault a high wooden fence, but unfortunately, the fence won; and she suffered a significantly fractured front leg. She was immediately taken to an emergency vet center by her family. After several procedures and almost two months of hospitalized vet care, Hunter is finally back home.
The good news-
Thankfully, Hunter is back home; happy and recovering well with her loving family and sister Spaniel, Baylee. She is the same affectionate, happy-go-lucky sweetheart that we all know, love and remember.
The bad news-
After several surgeries and attempts to fix/save her leg, it was ultimately determined that she would need it amputated. The cost of those surgeries & that type of veterinary care are out of reach for any one household.
Cost was never a question when it came to Hunter’s health and her immediate family would never ask for a dollar. Well, that is where extended family come in- to try and do some pet fundraising to offset a portion of the tab.
These are difficult times for everyone but if you find yourself in a position to be able to donate, we’ll make sure it goes to Hunter’s bill, so that her family can focus on her love and care. Thanks!
