Hunter Keefe - Iditarod 2024

Donation protected
The Call –

He’s at it again - the Happy Musher is ready for ROUND TWO of the famous Iditarod.

Hunter Keefe is prepared. It’s February already, and the Iditarod is right around the corner. However, there's still some gear and equipment that need to be replaced.

I’ve been fortunate to support Hunter (from afar… I’m in Idaho) in 2023 and to have watched his Iditarod rookie run. He did wonderfully! And he was awarded the Donlin Gold Sportsmanship Award, which only exemplifies his kind heart and resounding spirit. Last month, he ran 3 races (wow!) and did great (wow wow!). I'm so impressed!

Hunter’s a natural dog musher, an expert in his craft. I will continue to support him for as long as he and his dog team will have me.

The Cost –

Sled dog racing doesn’t come cheap. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Here’s a brief list of the most urgent things Hunter needs:

  • Pallet of dog food - $3,100
  • Dog harnesses - $800
  • Dog booties (5k bulk order) - $5,000
  • Travel expenses for K300 - $1,000

TOTAL - $9,900

There are a few other expenses coming due, but these are the most pressing.

The Race -

The Iditarod is only a month away! Hunter is currently selecting his sled dog team for Alaska’s great 1,000-mile race. Anyone who is bold enough to apply for this race is Aces in my book - it takes a lot of guts and tenacity to run.

Last year's rookie Iditarod run went swimmingly. He had a smoking-fast dog team! He took a laid-back approach, but continued to stay toward the front of the pack. Hunter’s competition became his comrades. He crossed the finish line in 11th place and also won the Donlin Gold Sportsmanship Award. Good things are in store for this year's run!

Read more about his previous races on his WEBSITE.

The Appreciation -

These dogs eat and run… a lot. They deserve the best care and attention. Any money raised helps these high-performing athletes stay strong and on the trails. Your support allows us to spend quality time with the dogs, which equals a more successful team!

The canine athletes come from the Redington kennel – a special shoutout to the Redington family! It’s a great honor to work with these dogs and do what we do. And to every fan and financial supporter, a big heartfelt thank you. We get the opportunity to continue mushing because of you!
