Hi, my name is Brooke and I'm raising funds for my cousin Kylie and her ex-husband Shane to create a headstone memorial for their little Hunter man. Hunter was a bright and bubbly, kind-hearted little boy who always looked out for his mum and dad and all those around him.
He loved trains and boom gates, garbage trucks, planes, slime and countless other things that 9-year-old little boys love. His skills at mini golf, bowling and especially Timezone left others bewildered and amazed.
Hunter’s biggest love after his parents, was his little pug Maeve, affectionately known as ‘Maisy Moo’. She would follow him everywhere and brought him great comfort through thick and thin and many a choke-hold cuddle.
In March 2025, Hunter began what would be the most challenging year of his little life, as he bravely battled a brain tumour. The strength and resilience he showed while facing challenges that no child should ever have to face made his mum and dad, and all those around him so proud.
He met everything with courage, tenacity and kindness that many adults never could. On Tuesday 6 January, heaven called. And our big-hearted, beautiful little Hunter man got his angel wings, surrounded by his parents, family, friends and both of his puppies by his side.
Hunter was laid to rest on Wednesday 14 January, with family and friends surrounding Kylie and Shane and the rest of Hunter’s family, to grieve, love, laugh and cherish their collective and precious memories of a beautiful little boy who will forever be young and forever in our hearts.
After a year of supporting Hunter’s medical journey, needing to stop or quit work for many months to be by Hunter’s side, and in a time of crippling grief, the cost of purchasing a headstone memorial for Hunter’s final resting place is a burden too great for Kylie and Shane to bear.
I’m hoping to raise the $30,000 needed to cover the costs of creating and installing a headstone for Hunter that will remain forever young, just as Hunter will, and that will allow his parents, family and friends to visit him for decades to come.
Any small contribution you can make to help give Hunter the final resting place he deserves is greatly appreciated. We love you Hunter and I hope we can do you proud with a resting place that reflects your massive heart, your infectious smile and the little life you led with kindness, passion and a cheeky streak that kept everyone on their toes.
(Note: For those who know me, I am located in Darwin however, my cousin and Hunter are in Greenvale Victoria and these funds will be going to them, not me)
