Hi, my name is Lynette Ramirez and I'm a close friend of the Hunsaker family. I'm raising funds to support Alan Hunsaker's battle against cancer; he was recently diagnosed with what they think is T-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, after suffering from severe chronic back pain. Even preceding the diagnosis, this pain has left him unable to work for several months. He is in immediate need of treatment or surgery up in San Francisco, which will further add a financial burden to their family.

This isn't this family's first difficult situation; about 5 years ago, they lost their daughter who had a severe disability. They are a family of faith and they know that God is sovereign over all. They generously serve those around them, and now it is our turn to be generous to them through prayer, encouragement, and financial support.

Elizabeth, Alan's wife, is the hardest-working person I know. She devoted years to caring for their disabled child while putting her own dreams aside, and this past year, she just started exercising her talents as a pastry chef in a restaurant. Her cheerfulness is contagious, and she is exceptional at caring for those around her. When I was bedridden after ankle surgery, she knew just how to lovingly support me---and now I hope to extend the same care to her.

Their 16-year-old son, Benjamin, is also very dear to us. He is like a brother to our son Jared; they have been close friends since Junior High. They share everything in common and have recently been serving together in our church's youth group. It is an honor for us to help care for Benjamin while his dad gets treatment.

This family would never ask for financial support, but this hardship is beyond their ability. I've never set up a gofundme page before, but this family has inspired me to do so. All funds will be donated to the Hunsaker family, and used to support their medical treatment and travel expenses. Thank you for reading---any support or prayers offered would go a long way to help.
