For You Haiti needs YOUR help. We are looking for incredible donors to fund our Hungry Tummies Project at our school in Anse-a-Galets, La Gonave Our island school has 319 incredible students. All staff are local La Gonavians who want to improve the lives of the children from the island through education and nutritional food.

Hungry Tummies Project is a simple program that aims to put food in the bellies of hungry children during the school day. Not only does this program encourage children to attend school, but for some, this meal might be the only food they receive that day. Malnutrition is a serious threat to the children of La Gonâve. 1 out of 3 children are underweight, and 1 out of 5 children die before the age of 6.

It is common on La Gonâve for children to go for days without food and to have no idea when their next meal might be. Children who suffer from malnutrition are at risk for other complications, such as not being able to fight a simple infection or illness. The Hungry Tummies Project was created to address the needs of the most vulnerable children on the island.  It also provides young children suffering from malnutrition with Plumpy Nut, a life-saving peanut butter paste.

This goal of raising $30,000 will provide 20,000 meals per year for our students who would otherwise go hungry. On top of meals, achieving this goal will provide unlimited clean water for all of our 319 students and the staff.

All donations will be managed by For You Haiti's International Donor Relations Manager, Kristy Clewett, and will be directly used for feeding hungry tummies of the For You Haiti school.
