Hi, my name is Paige. I am raising funds to help Subuiga Primary School children in Meru County, Kenya.

The program is called Hungry for Education, Nourishing Minds One Plate at a Time.

Did you know that $.014 feeds a child a norishing meal. Or $1 USD = 7 children not going hunger for a day.

Every day 417 children go to this school hungry, not only for food but also for education. Even though they are lacking energy, it does not limit their enthusiasm to learn. Their smiles are infectious, and they display amazing attitudes.

These kids strive for an education to create a better life for themselves, their loved ones and they WILL make this world a better place.

Many children walk for miles on empty stomachs. My goal is to provide them with one nutritional meal a day, lunch, to increase their energy and amplify their spirits.

Every week, myself, or my BFF, brings 90 kilos (almost 200 pounds) of maize, rice, beans, salt and cooking oils to serve to the children.

Results are already realized in only the first few months of this program. New children are enrolling in classes, absenteeism is at an all-time low, grades have risen, and the kindergarten class has increased by 10%. Amazing results.

As of 6/10/24, thanks to you, we have already raised over $9200. We have about $3300 to go so we can feed the 417 school children through the end of this year, 2024. The Gofundme raised a significant portion of the funds and other donation are coming in too. Thank you . I know we can exceed our goal together.

We have served over 40,000 meals this past five months. We have a cook who uses two large cauldrons to feed the children daily. Once a month, we bring a truck load of firewood to cook the meals.

In association with our feeding program, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, also provides tours to these children to see the wildlife and gain an understanding of the importance of protecting the animals. So essentially, your support also supports the protection of Kenya's endangered species such as rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and lions.
