In Loving Memories of Hung Tieu (Uncle Tom)

This campaign has been created on behalf of The Tieu Family in loving memory of Hung Tieu, (1964 – 2023) a man who brought light into everyone’s lives regardless of if they were his family, friends, or strangers.

Known as Chu Hung or Uncle Tom to most. recently passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 24th, 2023.
For many of you who know Chu Hung, you can wholeheartedly agree with what I’m about to say.

Chu Hung immigrated to Canada in his teenage years and quickly picked up many skills through his strong will to learn and took opportunities, working hard for a better life. For many years, he worked at many restaurants, growing his taste pallet, and expanding his knowledge of the cultures surrounding him. At the end of his shifts, he packaged food and distributed it amongst his community for those who could use a meal. Over the years, he’s continued to share his love by gathering his family and friends together to cook them wonderful meals. He’s also always been a handyman – offering a helping hand to his community for all sorts of repairs or projects. He’s always been the type to extend his assistance but never one to ask for anything in return.

Chu Hung led a life full of love, laughter, and fun – bestowing his enlightening wisdom and life experiences to those around him. He brought comfort to everyone through his patience; he made you feel listened to through his eyes and cared for through his actions. From his booming voice and monstrous laugh, it was a sound that brought peace and comfort to the room, knowing you’d be welcomed with his presence.

To the very end – Chu Hung remained true to his values, impacting lives in the most positive light, and helping the best he could with his generous heart. Recently discovered, Chu Hung is a registered organ donor, and we are happy to share that someone will be receiving the greatest part of him, his kind heart.

He was the sole provider for his family. Chu Hung is survived by his wife Trinh, daughter Thanh, sons Brandon & Tom, and granddaughters Mya and Emma. As we share our wonderful memories, we ask for these generous donations as they will go towards his funeral services and support his family through this tough transition.

He loved wholeheartedly and will always be loved. He is finally able to put at ease his restless hands and feet.
