For some light entertainment please watch the video attached! All those hens and many more are in the permanent care of Homes4Hens Rescue CIC. The non-profit organisation rescues and rehomes chickens from the farming industry and anywhere a hen is in need.

Although thousands of hens go to new loving homes every year there are always some that are unable to be rehomed. These hens usually have injuries or ailments that need extra care and so they become permanent residents at the sanctuary.

Along with the chickens, Homes4Hens also provide a safe place for other animals in need. Homes4Hens has provided sanctuary for pigs, ponies, donkeys, sheep and cats just to name a few. If there is space, then the door is open!

Homes4Hens Rescue CIC is a registered non-profit organisation and as such relies solely upon donations. The hardest time of year is the winter when the animals need extra feed, bedding and care. Each hen will eat a 20kg sack of feed over the winter and there are over a hundred hens to feed! Along with the costs of bedding and feed for the other animals the winter bill can amount to over £2000 and without your kindness and support it would be impossible to afford.

Whilst I realise that there are always causes in need of donations it is true that chickens are massively overlooked when it comes to welfare. There aren't many people or organisations who are working to save hens from slaughter and none that work so tirelessly and passionately as Homes4Hens.
