Support the Humber Hawks Women’s Basketball Team - Honouring Indigenous Voices Through Sport

On Wednesday November 19 , 2025, the Humber Hawks Women’s Basketball team will be hosting a special Indigenous Themed Night during our home game vs. Mohawk College. This event will be held in recognition of Indigenous Heritage Month and is dedicated to honouring and raising awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+).

As 2x national champions, our team is proud to use our platform to go beyond the game. This event is not just about basketball, it’s about acknowledging the lived experiences, stories, and resilience of Indigenous communities. It’s a moment for Humber Polyethnic and our broader community to come together in solidarity, education, and action.

Please note: This is a student and team-led initiative organized by the Humber Hawks Women’s Basketball Team.

We are fundraising to help cover the cost of custom MMIWG2S+ jerseys that our team will wear during selective games. All additional proceeds will be donated to an Indigenous community organization to support ongoing efforts in healing, advocacy, and cultural preservation.
