This campaign aims to raise a total of $400,000, but is first setting the goal at $100,000. Through this walk, we aim to raise the full $400,000 needed to bring the film to life — one step at a time. with every donation. A portion of the film’s proceeds, not funds raised through this campaign, is intended, at the filmmakers’ discretion, to go to those directly affected by immigration law enforcement.
Those who have crossed the U.S./Mexican border have walked hundreds of miles, not because it was easy, but because it was the only way forward.
This walk — and the film behind it — is my attempt to step into the unknown.
I’m a Mexican American filmmaker walking nearly 500 miles from Los Angeles to San Francisco in honor of that journey — and to raise funds for my independent feature film Fractured Fox, a story rooted in the community I come from and what I’ve witnessed firsthand.
This walk is by choice — in no way comparable to the risks others have taken — but a step into the unknown to feel even a fraction of that uncertainty, and to stand in support of those who have never had that choice.
This story is about my family, my friends, and those who have suffered at the hands of immigration enforcement.
It’s time for peace. It’s time for acceptance. It’s time to build bridges across all lands.
WHY I’M WALKING
Starting May 11th, I’ll be walking from USC to the Golden Gate Bridge, stopping at universities and cities along the California coast.
I’ll be walking 20 to 30+ miles a day, for about 30 days.
Along the way, I’ll be interacting with those who have been directly affected by immigration policies and enforcement in the United States — people whose stories are often reduced to headlines, or ignored completely.
This walk is about listening.
It’s about presence.
And it’s about understanding what it really means to risk everything for something better, even when there’s no guarantee it will work.
When I saw the way ICE agents were moving through my community in East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights, and across the country, it stayed with me. It felt reckless, and it felt like there was little regard for the human beings at the center of it. I couldn’t ignore it, so I'm not.
This walk is my protest. It comes from witnessing immigration enforcement in my community in a way that is aggressive, dehumanizing, and often disconnected from the lives it impacts. This walk, this film, are my response.
If you have any questions about the project, feel free to reach out. I’m always open to connecting and sharing more about the vision while keeping the story protected.
The Film
This walk is directly connected to the feature film in development:
Fractured Fox

Where Your Support Goes
A substantial portion of the funds raised will go directly toward:
Development and pre-production
Production (filming)
Post-production (editing, sound, color)
Festival submissions and promotion
Distribution efforts
Remaining funds will cover necessary expenses such as platform and payment processing fees associated with this campaign will also be covered.
This is a fully independent film, and your support helps bring it to life from the ground up.
Beyond the Film
This doesn’t end when the film is finished.
If the film is successfully sold and generates revenue, a portion of the proceeds may be directed back toward organizations and families who have been affected by immigration enforcement.
This is about creating something that gives back — not just telling a story.
Why This Matters
There’s a difference between hearing about something… and feeling it.
Most of us will never have to make the kind of decisions that force someone to leave everything behind and walk into uncertainty.
But we can choose to listen.
We can choose to understand.
We can choose to show up in whatever way we can.
This is mine. Let's take a stand.
