From February 1st to 7th, A dedicated team of six consisting of nurses, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist and two volunteers from the Netherlands will travel to Sal, Cape Verde, to support ATLAS Centro de Reabilitação Físico-Motora SU Lda, a local physical therapy organization.

Atlas provides care to children with physical impairments, people with neurological conditions and individuals with mental challenges. Despite their vital work, they face significant resource shortages compared to what we’re accustomed to in the Netherlands.

During our visit, we’ll assist with treatments, share knowledge, and provide tools and materials to help improve long-term care. We’re passionate about this mission because of our strong connection to Cape Verde and our commitment to reducing healthcare disparities.

To make this trip as impactful as possible, we need your support.

While we are fully committed to making this mission happen, we need financial support to cover key expenses:

• Travel Costs: Flights to Sal and local transportation to and from the clinic are essential for our team to reach the people who need our help.

• Accommodation: We need a safe place to stay during our week-long visit. This allows us to focus fully on providing care and support to the community.

• Medical Supplies and Equipment: Part of our mission is to bring much-needed tools and materials like walkers, wheelchairs and crutches for Atlas. These items will benefit patients long after our visit ends.

We want to assure you that we are personally covering our own expenses for food and drinks. Every donation received will go directly toward making this mission as impactful as possible for the people of Sal.
