DONATE AN AMBULANCE & 4X4 CAR CLOSE TO FRONT LINE IN UKRAINE
Donation protected
What we need current funds for is detailed further down page so please read on !
Hello, I am Iain Gordon and in the last 3 years + I have completed 17 humanitarian trips deep into Ukraine donating ambulances, 4x4`s, disability minibuses etc.
Many times I have been right to front line areas and the most dangerous places in order to give help and aid to the injured as well as many broken, desperate people.
I do some fundraising for the costs required and with the aid donations I recieve from D&G and my local Stranraer community, fill the vehicle ready for the trip.
Recently I have teamed up with Andy Macdonald from Kirkcudbright who has been a great asset and companion. We now take 2 vehicles out at a time.
In the past few months Andy and I have donated a Ford Kuga 4x4 full of medical and mobility aid which is now being used by a former commander in military who after being seriously wounded, now helps a specialist hospital in Kharkiv who deal with amputation and catastrophic spinal injury.
We have also donated a disability minibus to "Help Lyubotin" charity organisation near Kharkiv and was stuffed full of civilian aid and many many large bags of children`s clothes and gifts etc for the orphanage which will be used for health and social care of the children and elderly in their community.
Another 4x4 donated again stuffed full of clothes and hygiene items for the elderly displaced people was a Suzuki Grand Vitara which will be used to take aid to village communities near front lines where a 4x4 is the only means of getting there.
Also we are took a Volvo XC90 AWD that Andy and I paid for which was full of civilian aid and medical supplies. When the aid from this was distributed to those in need, the car was donated to a psychological team who are caring for soldiers, paramedics and firefighters as well as first responders affected because of the trauma of the war.
We are now ready for a further trip for 11 th August.
We will be taking a donated LWB Renault Master van from a Fire and Rescue group in Fife fully equipped with everything required to fight fire. This will be used by an administration in a village community just 9km from Russian lines and will help save houses attacked and also save the lives of those living there. It will also have onboard medical and mobility supplies including 19 wheelchairs, many crutches and a new palative care type bed with air mattress and this will be going to a trauma hospital in Kharkiv dealing with amputation and catastrophic spinal injury.
On the same trip we are taking a donated Skoda Roomster from a lovely lady in Kirkcowan which we will fill full of new children`s clothing and gifts and the whole thing will be donated to the authority looking after a large group of orphans near Kharkiv. They will further use this car in social care aspects of the children`s care.
WHAT WE NOW NEED FURTHER FUNDS FOR : ( fuel for 2 vehicles, 4x4 tyres, travel costs etc )
Andy and myself used our own money and bought a 4x4 and we have borrowed money to secure a very good ambulance at a very good price. It is now in a secure compound and has been made ready for the journey.
These vehicles we are taking out on 15th October. The ambulance is going to the same community as the fire van where they have no ambulance so this is a desperate need for them and WILL save lives.
It is being kitted out with much essential equipment by a Scottish Ambulance depot for us.
The 4x4 is going to medics close to the front line near Sumy where daily casualty numbers are huge and still climbing. This vehicle will be ideal during the winter months and able to get right to where casualties are being 4x4.
If you feel this is something you would or could help with a small contribution towards our costs to complete this we would be so happy but more over, these people we deal with on the far Eastern side of Ukraine would be ever so grateful.
This war is nowhere near finished and every day many many people and children are injured and killed and so many others losing their homes and all they own. I know this because I have seen this with my own eyes and dealt with these people personally on many occassions.
Thankyou for reading this
