To complete my studies, I must conduct field research for six months in the country of Jordan. Through this GoFundMe campaign, I hope to raise funds that will cover the costs of travel, housing, research equipment, and meals for my stay there (October 2018 to March 2019). The total cost of this endeavor is $10,000.
While all humanitarian aid crises are saddening, the needs being faced by Syrians have been called the worst since World War II. The Assad government and other warring factions often redirect aid and do not allow it to reach its intended destination. They also often besiege towns and villages, thus surrounding them militarily and prohibit aid from entering for the residents to use.
Jordan borders Syria and is integral to assisting those in need in Syria. In Jordan, I will interview and observe aid workers who work with Syrians in their country and Syrian refugees who have relocated to Jordan. My research will address the difficulties that aid workers face when trying to reach those in need and how Syrians deal with not always receiving the adequate assistance they need to survive.
This is certainly a saddening situation that I believe needs to be studied. I want my research to help future efforts to assist those in need, and I would be humbly honored for any financial support you can provide toward my efforts.
My thanks to you for your support.
