Cities in the South of Brazil are practically submerged due to severe flooding caused by heavy rains that hit the state.

The state government has declared a state of public calamity but the government FAILED us. Only 0,2% of its 2024 budget was destined to combat the climate crisis.

I AM DEVASTATED WATCHING THE VIDEOS AND CRIES FOR HELP OF PEOPLE WHO LOST EVERYTHING AND ARE LOOKING FOR THEIR MISSING PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS.

I LITERALLY JUST LISTENED TO AN AUDIO FROM A PERSON ON A RESCUE BOAT THAT SAW A LITTLE KID FLOATING DEAD!

ANIMALS ARE TRYING TO SURVIVE FLOATING IN THE WATER THAT IS EVERYWHERE.

The numbers continue to rise, but we have around 700 THOUSAND PEOPLE affected, with MORE THAN 80 THOUSAND already out of their homes, with more than 60 declared DEAD, more than 100 MISSING people and more than 150 injured. These numbers are approximated according to the Civil Defense and are changing every hour.

These images and videos that are being massively shared on instagram, along with cries for help for stranded people and missing family/friends, serve as a terrible shock of this haunting reality!

My name is Amanda Rossini Martins and I am a Brazilian citizen from the South of Brazil. More than 80% of my city was affected by this climate disaster (São Leopoldo). I am raising this money for the ones who are displaced during this tragedy.

Once I transfer the money obtained here to my personal account, I will identify the current demands on the ground and use the money to buy food, water, clothes for people in the shelters, medicine for them, products to clean their houses after the water goes down, and much more.
