HumanistsMN Ukrainian Refugee Sponsorship
Tax deductible
Be part of something truly meaningful!
Members and friends of HumanistsMN, a leading secular non-profit that promotes ethical living and human flourishing, are sponsoring a family from Ukraine under the US government's 'Uniting for Ukraine' program. This program allows us to sponsor a family displaced by the war in Ukraine and provides a legal pathway for them to move to the United States to live and work for two years.
Commitment has now been made to a young couple with a 5-year-old child, who are currently living in Odessa. Their lives, employment, and schooling for their daughter have been completely disrupted, and some nights they are sleeping in a bomb shelter while shelling occurs. The required legal paperwork for their move to the US has already been filed.
When war-torn families re-settle here, they are leaving behind all they have ever known - homes, jobs, relatives etc. The money you donate will be used entirely to support the family, and will cover any day-to-day basics necessary to help them get on their feet - including housing, food, health care, childcare, language classes, transportation and education - as they transition to independence.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 for the above costs for an adjustment period of 2-3 months.
Please join us in donating whatever you can toward this great cause, and help a family fleeing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. We look forward to welcoming them to our friendly state of Minnesota!

We will be working with our partners at Alight (formerly the American Refugee Committee) throughout this process, benefiting from their experience of providing humanitarian assistance for over 40 years.
Please note that any and all funds remaining from this project will continue to be used to support displaced families in Ukraine, either through further sponsorship opportunities or as donations toward this same cause.
Thank you!
