Human Error: A SCAD Senior Capstone Film

Through both the heavy push of Artificial Intelligence, and the fall of human connection and compassion, the future of this country seems to be heading in a downward spiral . My capstone will seek to be a wake up call to these concerns, while also driving that point across with an entertaining and memorable story that will keep people thinking about it after the credits roll.

The story features what I like to call a 'Dystopian human containment building', which serves as a point of mystery in the film, but also as an allegory for the United States. This building is physically walling itself off from the outside world, not allowing anyone to come in (or out), and has its occupants complete mundane tasks as artificial intelligence handles all the actual important things. The people inside are bored, deprived of substance, and most devastatingly, alone. My protagonist will go to extreme lengths to get a taste of real freedom, and not the kind that he constantly has sold to him. As someone who moved to the United States and wasn’t born here, I have a context on life outside of America, as well as still having friends and family with an outside view and perspective of America and how it is seen from other countries' points of view. I plan to take these viewpoints and opinions on board as I dive deeper into this project.
