Human Beauty Liquid Confidence Launch

Donation protected
Hi Everyone,

First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read what I am about to say as any support I have received over the last 2 years has been amazing. I started my journey with Human Beauty around 2 years ago and since then have been backed by some very influential people in the Beauty industry and have won some incredible awards which have shown there has never been more of a need for a brand like Human Beauty then now.

Now things with Covid-19 have settled down, 2022 is the year I am determined to finally launch a product that has been in the works for the past 2 years. Having just won the Santander Universities pitching competition which has given me a small cash prize it has given me the boost I needed. Several people have asked how they can help and suggested that I start a GoFundme page. So, here it is! I am looking to fundraise the remaining money I need by the end of February which will allow me to plan for a Summer product launch. Anyone who donates will be the first to get their hands on our Liquid Confidence Mascara.

A bit of background about me and Human Beauty:
I am a 23-year-old, 4ft7 pocket rocket born with a rare genetic disorder called Cystinosis which affects 3000 people worldwide. Over the last 4 years I have had 2 Kidney transplants one of which went wrong resulting in me being in hospital for over 3 months (during my second year at university). Growing up with my condition has given me the drive, ambition, and life experience to succeed in all aspects of my life that I put my mind to.

Growing up with Cystinosis affecting only 3000 people worldwide I have used makeup as a form of therapy during times of bad health and truly believe it has played a huge part in my recovery. However, I became frustrated by the severe lack of disability representation in the industry. I did some research and found I wasn't the only one who felt this way and discovered truly the extent to which brands are forgetting about people with disabilities! Disabled people of all types make up 15% of the world's population, which makes it the worlds largest minority!

This is when I knew I had to make the World's first TRULY inclusive beauty brand. I am driven by the impact this could have on people's self esteem, as I know myself how disheartening and damaging it can be on mental health to never see anyone like yourself portrayed in the media.

I am a big believer that if there was more disability representation in our media there would be a lot less prejudice and bullying because bullying often comes from misinformed people who haven't been exposed to people who are different. This is why it is really important I pave the way for Beauty brands of the future!

There are currently no makeup companies with the focus of disability inclusion even though the industry is currently focusing heavily on being inclusive in terms of race, gender and sexuality. This is when I knew I had to make the World's first TRULY inclusive beauty brand, HUMAN BEAUTY with likeminded people with and without disabilities at the forefront of my campaigns to make it the norm (as it should be!). I will champion accessible design incorporating features such as our own braille style coding system to ensure absolutely everyone can experience the power of makeup and its ability to boost self-esteem like I have!

In a world where the ideal of perfection is everywhere we turn, I want to show people it's ok to be different and our quirks are what makes us unique. I hope you believe in me and Human beauty like I do!
