Hulphond Wob redt levens

*spoed* Dit is Wob, een Labradoodle van 1 jaar. Wob is de steun en toeverlaat van Thijmen, mijn zoon van 16 jaar. Thijmen heeft autisme, ptss en een zware depressie. Een ‘ normaal’ leven als puber is voor Thijmen ( nog) niet haalbaar. Naar school gaan, met vrienden afspreken, naar de film gaan etc, zijn gewoonweg niet mogelijk. Waardoor zijn leven stilstaat. De overprikkeling, de spanning en de constante strijd tegen de depressie, putten hem uit. Thijmen is hierdoor meerdere keren opgenomen geweest, crisisopnames maar ook in het amc na een overdosis. De hulpverleners doen wat ze kunnen, maar de strijd tegen de depressie blijft. 

Sinds de komst van Wob, zien wij een positieve verandering. Wob geeft Thijmen steun in moeilijke situaties en houdt Thijmen stabiel tijdens de zware nachten. En het allerbelangrijkste, Wob zorgt voor een stipje op de horizon voor Thijmen.

Dit maakt dat wij het traject in zijn gegaan om

Wob officieel te certificeren als hulphond. De hulpverlening is akkoord en ziet wat Wob voor Thijmen doet. Als Wob hulphond is, mag hij mee naar het amc voor de therapieën van Thijmen. Wob mag mee naar school, zodat Thijmen kan proberen zijn diploma te halen etc etc. Wob krijgt de credits voor het harde werk wat hij nu al doet en Thijmen krijgt een kans om weer een leven op te bouwen.

Helaas zit hier een kostenplaatje aan vast… De gemeente waar wij wonen financiert het traject niet. En aangezien er haast geboden is, vanwege de zwaarte van de depressie, is alle hulp welkom. Thijmen wordt 9 augustus 17 jaar, zijn grootste wens is dat deze crowdfunding een succes wordt. Helpen jullie mee zijn droom te verwezenlijken?

A 'normal' life as a teenager is not (yet) feasible for Thijmen. Going to school, meeting friends, going to the movies, etc, are simply not possible. That puts his life on hold. The overstimulation, the tension and the constant battle against depression exhaust him. Thijmen has been admitted several times as a result, crisis admissions but also in the amc after an overdose. The counselors are doing what they can, but the battle against the depression continues. Since the arrival of Wob, we see a positive change. Wob supports Thijmen in difficult situations and keeps Thijmen stable during the difficult nights. And most importantly, Wob provides a dot on the horizon for Thijmen. This makes us embark on the process Wob to be officially certified as an assistance dog. The social workers agree and see what Wob does for Thijmen. If Wob is an assistance dog, he can come along to the amc for Thijmen's therapies. Wob is allowed to go to school, so that Thijmen can try to get his diploma etc etc. Wob gets the credits for the hard work he already does and Thijmen gets a chance to build a new life. Unfortunately, this comes with a cost… The municipality where we live does not finance the process. And since there is urgency, due to the severity of the depression, any help is welcome. Thijmen turns 17 on August 9, his greatest wish is that this crowdfunding will be a success. Will you help realize his dream?
