Hulphondtraject voor Ruth - Help jij ook?

'Ik ben Ruth Bakker en ik woon in Utrecht samen met mijn dochter Lima en onze 2 katten Zaza en Mini.

Ik werk als fotograaf en maak en speel theatervoorstellingen voor kinderen. Hiermee treed ik op door heel het land in theaters en

bibliotheken, scholen en kinderziekenhuizen.

Maar toen door corona alles stilviel, voelde ik me even heel alleen op de wereld en werden alle gedachten en nare herinneringen van

vroeger me teveel.

Hoe graag ik ook de sterke, vrolijke en sociale Ruth ben, de nachtmerries en angsten namen de overhand en langzaam werd het donker...'

'De eerste stap is gezet! In maart begin ik aan een hulphondentraject.

Ik krijg een golden retriever pup die wordt opgeleid tot mijn hulphond. Zij helpt me in de momenten van spanning en angst.

Zo kan zij mij bijvoorbeeld uit een nachtmerrie halen, waardoor ik weer een gezond dag- en nachtritme kan ontwikkelen.

Dit bijzondere traject duurt in ieder geval 1,5 jaar. Helaas is het ook erg duur (ruim €10.000 voor traject, aanschaf en alle andere kosten).

De kosten voor een hulphond voor iemand die PTSS heeft opgelopen door zijn werk worden vergoed, maar helaas geldt dit nog niet voor mensen zoals ik.

Daarom vraag ik jouw hulp.

'My name is Ruth Bakker and I live in Utrecht with my daughter Lima and our 2 cats Zaza and Mini.

I work as a photographer and make and play theater performances for children. With this I perform in theaters and throughout the country in libraries, schools and children's hospitals.

But when everything came to a standstill due to corona, I felt very alone in the world for a moment and all thoughts and bad memories to be too much for me. As much as I love the strong, cheerful and social Ruth, the nightmares and fears prevailed and it slowly got dark ...

The first step has been taken! In March I will start a service dog trajectory. I am getting a golden retriever puppy who is being trained to be my service dog. She helps me in moments of tension and fear. For example, she can get me out of a nightmare, so I can develop a healthy day and night rhythm again.This special process takes at least 1.5 years. Unfortunately it is also very expensive (more than € 10,000 for route, purchase and all other costs). The costs for a service dog for someone who has contracted PTSD from work will be reimbursed, but unfortunately this does not yet apply to people like me.
