Hullabaloo Farm Sanctuary is a new and Superhero themed non-profit organization based in upstate New York. We are focused on rescuing and providing forever homes to farm animals that would otherwise be exploited and/or killed. We also offer education about the negative impact of Factory Farming on farm animals, the environment, and the human race. We believe everyone, human and animal alike, has the potential to be a Superhero and can use those powers to help fight for Truth, Justice, and the Plant-Based Way.

 

We are currently building up our infrastructure at HQ to rescue more animals. Our first and probably biggest and most expensive project is installing perimeter fencing around the property. This fencing is crucial for the safety of any Superhero animals here at HQ, both current and future residents alike. Our current residents are confined to a relatively small area, but this perimeter fencing will allow them access to acres of land to explore. We come into contact with animals that needs rescuing and a forever home on a daily basis, but have not been able to take any additional animals in primarily because of the lack of safe and secure fencing on the property. There are so many farm animals that need a forever home right now and we have the potential to offer that once this fencing is installed.

 

Given the high cost of fencing supplies and demand for work, it has been challenging to find a fencing contractor that can meet our budget and get us on their schedule. We are so grateful that someone was able to refer us to a contractor that's not only affordable (about half the cost others have quoted us) and willing to get us scheduled ASAP, but who understands our mission and vision for the property. He will be installing a 4-foot woven wire fence with new posts and an electrical "hot wire" along both the top and bottom of the fence (to keep our animals in and predators out). Even though we are still waiting for our tax-exempt (501c3) status to be approved by the IRS (the application was submitted in March 2022), this contractor is also willing to waive the sales tax now on the entire project. The project's total cost is just under $12,000, but we would need 50% of that as a deposit to get the work started.

 

Our original plan was to wait for our tax-exempt status in order to offer tax-deductible donations to our supporters and apply for grants and other funding sources that we aren't eligible for until we are an official 501c3 non-profit. However, to be able to utilize this contractor and accept his generous proposal, we need to raise the funds as quickly as possible. Thankfully, any donations we receive now will be retroactively tax-deductible (from our initial organization date in January of 2022) once we have our approved 501c3 status. Any funds raised in excess of our goal will go directly toward the care of current and future Superhero animal residents at the sanctuary (ie: medical, food, additional infrastructure, etc. costs).
