Huimin Ma’s Memorial Fundraiser

With deep sorrow, I share the tragic news of the passing of Huimin Ma, who was involved in a fatal car accident on September 29. Huimin was a visiting PhD student from China, known for her intelligence, kindness, and the positive impact she had on those around her. I am Jilong Xu, her boyfriend, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of her grieving family.

In addition to the emotional loss, Huimin's family is facing significant financial strain. Huimin and her younger sister and brother are all currently pursuing their university studies. However, her father does not have stable employment, and her mother's income is very limited, which has led them to rely on student loans. Huimin was on track to graduate with her PhD next year, and based on her career plan, she was likely to secure a teaching position at a university.

Sadly, before she could begin her career, Huimin's life was tragically cut short. Her family now faces not only immense grief but also increased financial hardship. I hope to raise funds to offer some financial relief for her parents during this incredibly difficult time.
