To know Riley is to love her, I don't think it's possible for anyone who knows her to not agree with me!! Riley has struggled since birth and has had multiple heart related surgeries including 4 open hearts. At birth she was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and DiGeorge Syndrome and had to have an artificial valve with The Mee Procedure. Riley has also developed  Pulmonary Vascular Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Chronic Lung Disease. Her current stay in the hospital which has been 39 days so far (8/18/19)- Riley has had multiple surgeries and procedures and has developed Candida Pneumonia. During this stay Riley also went into Cardiac Arrest with a Pulmonary Hemorrhage during a Bronchoscopy. Since the Arrest she has developed ARDS which is Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome which affects your lungs and because of this had to be put on VV ECMO. Riley's other major organs are in distress as well- her kidneys are damaged along with her liver and she also has pancreatitis. They want to do a Tracheotomy this week to give her a better chance of being able to recover. With all of these symptoms Riley is not a Transplant Candidate but if she improves it could be an option. Riley is literally fighting for her life and has a very long road ahead of her when she recovers-she could be in the hospital 6 months to a year.  Please consider helping out my friends as they are dealing with overwhelming odds as they face Riley's very critical health issues.  Any amount, big or small is appreciated more than you know.
