Hugo's Thymus Journey

Donation protected
Hugo and the D’Arcy family need your help.

Little Hugo was born with a rare genetic disorder with a cleft palate and a life-threatening disorder called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disorder (or SCID). Under the guidance of medical advice at Westmead hospital, Hugo underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant at 10 weeks of life and the family have been in strict isolation to keep Hugo free from harmful microbes. Unfortunately, the treatment has not been successful and after further testing the family may need to seek further treatment in the UK for a thymus transplant.

Additionally, Hugo is experiencing serious side effects from the bone marrow transplant that will require urgent care prior to Christmas, with Nikki and Hugo having to travel and leave home for a prolonged period for treatment for more chemotherapy.

The past 12 months has been very stressful for the family of 5, with strict isolation, loss of work in the veterinary clinic, juggling the dairy farm, home schooling, travelling to and from Sydney and family separation for long periods of time. Furthermore, with the thymus transplant treatment they will need to be isolated for a further 24 months once returning from the UK.

We are raising funds for travel and accommodation costs and to help buy any equipment to keep Hugo safe. We appreciate all your support and will keep everyone posted.

Thank you N&A D'Arcy
--------‐---------------------------‐-----------

The D'Arcy family are one of the most generous, kind and hard working families I know. Their resilience and attitude throughout the past 12 months have been nothing less than extraordinary. I know many people have offered their support, though due to the strict isolation have felt helpless. This is how you can help! Please donate, share, share and share!

The aim: Financial support
The dream: Support and raise enough to fly Hugo safely to the UK with minimal exposure to other passengers so he does not become unwell, delaying his treatment.

"It takes a village" greatful for all the support and love.

Thank you.
