Help this sweet Pitty Texas Rescue get the care he deserves

Meet Hugo (aka Hugo the hug machine, Hugo Mugo Bugo, Huggle space telescope, handsome bobansome, Booga, Boogeyman). He is a sweet, gentle, loving boy who was rescued from the streets of Texas before starting his new life in Newfoundland, Canada. Hugo was found on the streets of Texas. He is estimated to be 3 years old, and from what we know, he had overcome some hardships before finding his furever home with his Mama Molly and kitty sis Ives. Spending his days with them, cuddling, relaxing, snacking and wearing cozy pyjamas: Hugo is in paradise.

Recently, Hugo has been facing some unexpected medical challenges, having been diagnosed with an active Heartworm infection. Unfortunately, the vet bills are adding up fast - tests, medications and treatments - but his Mama is determined to get him all the care he needs to live a long, happy and healthy life. He used to spend his days running, playing, going on adventures and having all kinds of fun at doggy daycare. Since his diagnosis, he has had to trade his usual active lifestyle for one of rest and vet appointments. He has gotten multiple blood tests, started medication and is soon to begin treatments. These treatments require injections, where he will require sedation and strict crate rest. It won’t be fun for Hugo or his Mama, but it is our best shot at getting him through this.

Hugo has already overcome so much and brings joy to all those that he has met throughout his journey. Simply looking in his direction makes his tail wag, and you can feel his love from just a look. With some love and support, we know he can get through this, too!
