Hi my name is Amanda and this go fund me page is for my amazing little dog Hugo.
Hugo is my 6 year old French bulldog. To most people he's just a dog, but to me he's the reason I made it through some of the darkest moments of my life. Unfortunately for Hugo he is encountering struggles of his own now, as he finds breathing really difficult and is at high risk of aspiration pneumonia ( which he has already had once).
I'm desperately trying to raise £4000 for the surgery that could save his life.
We live in Staffordshire, and after becoming disabled following a serious car accident, and enduring months and months of rehabilitation, Hugo came into my life nine months later, and became my constant companion, helping me through my rehabilitation when I needed the support most.
After everything I've been through with Hugo I simply couldn't face a life without him, and due to being disabled and having a limited income I cannot afford this surgery on my own. Which is why I am asking for help so I can give him the chance to live his life without struggling to breathe.
I just wanted to highlight that Hugo has always been insured, from the day I had him, however his current insurers are refusing to pay for his BOAS surgery, which has deeply upset me and makes you question why pay monthly pet insurance!
I really never thought id be in this position, asking strangers for help like this, but I cannot bare the thought of losing him, so young, and otherwise relatively healthy.
Hugo has been diagnosed with BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) which means he struggles to breathe, and without surgery it can become life-threatening. The surgery he needs will cost £4000.
Hugo has given me six years of unconditional love and has helped me through pain, fear and a long recovery, he never once left my side, so I owe it to him to do all I can to ensure he lives a long and happy life.
He needs me now.
I know times are challenging for everyone, but if you could donate even a small amount, it would mean the World to us.
If you cant donate, please share this post. One share could reach someone who could help save Hugo.
Thank you so much for reading our story and for helping the little dog who helped save me. xx
