Early in March 2021, Hugo Leon and his wife Colomba Moran tested positive for Covid. Days went by and Colomba started to feel better but Hugo started having trouble with his breathing. Colomba rushed him to the ER where he was told he had made it just in time but after one week of being admitted, several testings showing little to no improvement with his lungs he had to get assistance from a ventilator in order for him to stay alive and continue his fight with covid. He was later transferred to University of Virginia Hospital in hopes for him to continue this fight with far more advanced/specialized equipment but after 6 weeks of suffering, he lost his battle. On April 25, 2021 his wife Colomba and his daughters Paola and Monica Leon rushed to the hospital to say their goodbyes and see their dad alive for the last time. With heavy hearts they had to share the news to his four grandkids who were not able to see or say goodbye to their grandpa due to all the restrictions and their safety.
Covid has taken another life, another husband, dad, grandpa and son. Hugo touched so many lives, he was always there for those in need. He was a man of faith, caring and always finding ways to help others. I will forever be grateful for having the chance of knowing him and being part of his family because for him everyone was family, he loved everyone as the man of god he was and his teachings will forever remain as a reminder of the love to the people he touched.
I am asking for those who know me or his family to please help with whatever you can to cover some of the expenses that his loss will leave behind. These are definitely hard times for a lot of people so I am asking kindly to donate whatever you can or help by sharing. We will appreciate it and be forever thankful.
