Hugo was 38, when we were informed that he passed away due to an overdose. His story is devasting as his bad habits started after high school. His drug use later became drug abuse and later developed Schizophrenia which is a mental disorder that caused him to hear voices and see things that weren't truly there. He later became homeless as it became a danger to keep him in the house as I was under the age of 7. Although it hurt us to see him in the streets, there wasn't much more we could do as our local police advised us to keep him out of the house.

Hugo was always known to have great character and a funny personality. He consistently made jokes and never failed to put a smile on someone's face. Not only was he funny, but he also had the sweetest gestures to give and a caring heart that put others first. Even when he wasn't the happiest on his "off" days, he always managed to make people smile. He loved our Mom like every Mom wishes to be loved, he protected my sister and I as if he were the last soldier standing during a war, he was that and much more. His actions weren't dependable on his state of mind, it was tragically the drugs overtaking his body and consciousness. He was a strong fighter when getting help but was sadly overtaken by his addictions.

He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and best friend. I am making this GoFundMe as an opportunity to ask for help with his expenses for the services we will be providing to give him a final comforting goodbye.
