Supporting Rodger and Nicola
Donation protected
Rodger is a present, active, hands-on and energetic daddy to his two children Seb and Florence;and loving and supportive husband to his wife Nicola.
He is also a successful running coach and athlete, a keen advocate for getting children into sport, a charity fundraiser and now also a campaigner for M.A.S.T.(Make the Airway Safe Team) and founder of ReadySebGo, after his son Seb was born prematurely and needed, and continues to need, medical support.
Over the last few years Rodger’s family have really been through some tough times and yet they do so with kindness, smiles and incredible resilience.
Sadly, this weekend the family was dealt another blow when Rodger suffered with some sudden, serious seizures and was rushed into hospital. He is currently unable to walk and undergoing a series of tests to ascertain what is causing these.
This is an incredibly difficult time for all of them and unfortunately the situation is made worse by the fact Rodger is the main provider for his family and is also self-employed.
While Rodger is in hospital, and isn’t working, the financial implications of this are weighing heavily on Nicola, causing her to worry about how they’ll make ends meet this month, and for as long as this may continue.
This page has been put together by the Hughes’ family’s friends to try and raise some money and show our support during this difficult time.
We invite people to donate as much or as little as they can but more than anything with these pledges show support for the family, letting them know we have their backs.
Anyone who knows Rodger and Nicola knows the kind of people they are – kind, selfless and serving members of their local and running communities and church.
This is an opportunity to show them they are so appreciated and that they have support during this time.
Danny Hodge, close family friend of the Hughes said: “I know Rodger and his family will be so appreciative of the tremendous support being offer to them by their friends and community.
Rodger carries an immense amount of pressure on his shoulders and during this time I think doing anything we can to alleviate some of that stress is the best thing that we can do for him.
Rodger’s business is one born out of passion and purpose and I’d really love and encourage people to take an active interest in the work that he does, which is so important.
By helping him grow his business, my hope is that long-term it can become something sustainable, so that taking time out to care for himself or for his family doesn’t have such an immediate and difficult impact.
On behalf of Rodger I want to thank anyone who has come to this page, taken the time to read, and donated money, time and support.”
