Summer Hay Drive

Tax deductible

The Bit-By-Bit Summer Hay Drive is but a small but crucial part of providing Equine Therapy programs to our special needs children and
veterans. Ensuring our horses maintain a steady and healthy diet while keeping our expenses low, safeguards our critical programs for the many clients who receive therapy here at Bit-Bit-Bit.

Your donation means that you understand just how valuable riding a horse can be to a child with cognitive and/or physical challenges.
Thanks to you, we are able to provide nearly 6,000 therapy visits per year to children and veterans with special needs.
We provide them with a sanctuary of confidence, therapy, and hope.

But let me tell you what our services at Bit-By-Bit mean to some of the children who depend on us.

>> Alex is an 18-year-old with Cerebral Palsy, before learning to ride her horse she had difficulty with everyday activities like riding a bike. Now after improving her balance, confidence, and coordination through Therapeutic Horseback Riding she is able to go on bike rides with her family.

>> Zea, a 2-year-old, was diagnosed with a Neuroblastoma. She has been through months of radiation, surgeries, and chemotherapy.
She came to BBB unable to walk, she had difficulty sitting independently and she rarely smiled. Now after 3 short months of hippotherapy she is walking with minimal assistance, sits up tall on her horse, and never stops talking and smiling when she comes to us for her therapy.

>> A 14-year-old who witnessed the shootings in Parkland Florida refuses to return to any of her previous activities.
Deeply traumatized by what she has witnessed, she comes to the barn because her younger sister receives Physical  Therapy at BBB already. She participated in a grief counseling session called Equine-assisted psychotherapy involving the horses, and her mom reports it's the
1st time she has smiled in weeks!

Although these victories may seem small to the average person, you know that they are not. That's why you gave, and why our staff, volunteers, and our children are full of gratitude for your generosity.

People like you help make our equine therapy possible, ensure that our horses are well fed, housed, and trained, and guarantee that we can continue providing life-enhancing services to the special needs community.
