Please help my friend Matt Smith and his family! On October 30th my neighbor and friend Matt Smith was setting up to begin work on St. Johns Church in Westminster, MD and slipped on frost that could not be seen on a rubber roof. Matt and his wife Becca locally own and operate a very small roofing company in which they have been doing so for 10 years now. Matt fell about 35' to the ground and was air lifted to Shock Trauma. Matt fell on his left side and had broken over 12 bones including 6 fractures in his pelvis alone. After a week in Shock Trauma, Matt was transfered to Kernan's Rehab facility for almost 2 weeks and is now finally home. Matt has a long recovery ahead of him and doctors think that with intensive rehab he should make a full recovery within 6 months. Becca, their two children Gracie & Jack and all of their family and friends are so grateful to still have Matt here today. Matt fortunately was able to celebrate his 40th birthday this past Sunday with his wife and children. Ever since I have know Matt he has worked his butt off day in and day out to provide for his family and enjoyed every moment of it. Even with all of the broken bones and limited mobility, Matt's only worry is how he's going to take care of his family for the next 6 months. God surely did his part to make sure that Matt could be here with us today. Now it's our turn to help Matt and his family through this long and difficult obstacle in their lives. With all of the bills and added expenses it will be very hard for them to make ends meet with no income for 6 months. I ask for your help even if it is a few dollars. Anything is much appreciated. Altleast we can help give Gracie and Jack a Christmas that every child deserves. Thanks so much and please share.
