Huellitas de Acero A.C. Puerto Escondido

Hello, my name is Lyndsey and I am raising funds for this dog shelter. We traveled to Mexico last November after losing our beloved chihuahua Rosie. We decided that volunteering at a dog shelter would be a good way to help fill the void left by our furry friend. In Puerto Escondido, we discovered this wonderful shelter that provides sanctuary, care and medical treatment for dogs that otherwise would be homeless and abandoned on the street. They hope to provide a safe place for these dogs until they are adopted out into their furever homes.

We have teamed up with the people that work at and provide for Little Steel Prints and have started making improvements to the shelter itself. However, we still have a ways to go. Our goals include fortifying existing structures to make them waterproof and secure to protect our pups during the rainy season, building fencing to secure separate areas for smaller dogs or dogs that are recovering from medical treatment, and building benches for the dogs to lay on so they don't have to sleep in the dirt. In addition, we have over 125 dogs that need regular flea and tick treatment, veterinary care, medicine, food and water. The shelter costs average about $3000/month. Any help you can provide will go a long way in making life better for these sweet dogs. One hundred percent of your donation will go to the shelter.
