Help Support the Gordon Family
My brother, Brian Gordon, is only 39 years old and is fighting for his life right now because of Covid. He is married to Jessica (Bradshaw), and they just celebrated 15 years this past May and together they have two children, 18 and 15.
On Tuesday, Aug 31st, Brian went to get tested for Covid because the sinus infection he thought he had was getting worse instead of better. And unfortunately, the result came back positive for Covid. He then went the next day to get the Regeneron infusion in Lamesa at the clinic. During the “check-in” process, he was told to go straight to the ER because his oxygen level was in the low 80s and he was still running a high temperature. He walked into the ER, as best he could at the time, as his family had to stay outside as they weren’t allowed to even go in with him. He was admitted and given the Regeneron and put on high-flow oxygen and was in the 90s at the time. However, during the night he dropped back down to the 80s, but he went back up to the 90s during the day on Thursday. They put him on bipap Thursday evening because he drops during the night but were optimistic that he would go back to high-flow oxygen the next morning. However, that was not meant to be. In the very early hours of Friday morning, he was struggling to maintain the oxygen levels needed on the bipap and the decision was made that he needed to go on the vent and get transferred to UMC in Lubbock. He was then flown to UMC where is blood pressure dropped very low and they had to give him medications to help bring it back up. Jessica is only allowed to see him once per day for 2 hours and we are so very thankful that she can go in to see him as we know others who do not get that privilege. While on the vent, he was able to get his first night of rest in days. On Saturday, we learned that he is no longer on any medications for his blood pressure, he had not had a fever in 24 hours, and he was down to 70% oxygen on the vent. We were so thankful to have good reports on him. The hospital has been wonderful with keeping Jessica informed of how he is doing and what they are doing for him. We truly believe that he was meant to be at UMC.
Those of you who know my brother personally know how much he hates asking for help and would never ask anyone for money for any reason. I will probably be in so much trouble when he learns that I have set this up, but I do know, without a doubt, that he would want his family taken care of while he is unable to do it. With him being on a vent in the hospital, obviously he cannot work. Jessica is also unable to work right now as well due to the Covid exposure and their son has also tested positive. Currently, he is not exhibiting any life-threatening symptoms.
We ask that if you are able, consider giving financially to the Gordons. This would be a tremendous blessing to the family! All donations will help with traveling expenses, food, living expenses, his medical expenses, and any other expenses that may arise with Brian being in the hospital over an hour away from home.
This sweet family needs our assistance to get through this horrible ordeal. Jessica is doing everything she can to hold it together for Brian and the kids. But she needs our help take the stress off of how she is going to pay for all the things that she needs to take care of while Brian is in the hospital.
And please keep Brian and his family in your prayers as they wait for updates on this horrible situation.
Thank you and God Bless
