Hudson Merino’s medical expenses

Hi, my name is Dina Pogroszewski and I am fundraising for my great nephew Hudson Merino’s extensive medical expenses.

On September 11, 2023 my great nephew, Hudson Merino was born at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester New York. He was born premature with a congenital heart defect called critical aortic stenosis. Initial surgery to repair the defect was performed on September 19. The surgery was not successful. As a result of a complication during the procedure, Hudson has had multiple complications, including needing to be on a respirator, pneumonia, a collapsed lung, and needing a blood transfusion to help his organs.

On November 18, Hudson was transported by a mercy flight to Boston Children’s Hospital. The next day. doctors successfully performed open-heart surgery to repair the initial heart defect. Hudson is currently on an ECMO life-support system and he has pulmonary hypertension. The concerns regarding his lungs are due to his length of time on a respirator and multiple lung infections as well as a collapsed lung.

These funds will be used to help with medical expenses as well as the travel expenses including hotel, gas, and food from Rochester to Boston, I hope to relieve some of the financial pressures that Hudson‘s parents, my nephew, Joe Merino, and Mikaela Kaschner are experiencing, so their focus can remain on Hudson’s recovery.
