Hudson family flood recovery
Donation protected
Rhonda Hudson and her adult children Jessica and David live right of off Campbell Creek in Charleston. They were among the dozens of individuals rescued in the middle of the night from flash floods here in West Virginia. (The firefighters couldn’t get their dogs, cats, and turtle out during the night, but fortunately the animals stayed safe in the house through the flood!)
As of this evening the whole area was still out of power, but I was struck on visiting the Hudson’s home earlier today that it’s the only one in its immediate vicinity that flooded. Even after a warm day the water had only receded to the level in the picture above, and the damage to their home is quite significant. What’s more, their two vehicles are likely irreparable.
The Hudsons are proud, hard-working individuals, but this kind of damage is simply devastating. Your contribution will help Rhonda, Jessica, and David get back on their feet by repairing their home and—perhaps more urgently—ensuring they have the transportation they need to keep working and remain self-sufficient.
Thank you so much for your kindness!!
