Hudson Bierl fight Neuroblastoma

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brianna Huston. I am Allyson's older sister and Hudson's Aunt.

On November 25th, my sister and brother- in-law were told that their precious little boy has cancer. Hudson was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

What originally was thought to be intermediate risk turned into high risk when they found mycn gene amplifier. This mycn amplifier is very rare and very scary when you research it.

Mayo clinic has a protocol treatment plan for a child in high risk, as they are part of the COG. This plan included a tandem stem cell transplant. This would equal up to 80 days in the hospital, multiple IVs, possible sedation, and the risk of damaging his organs and other systems. This news was devastating but they understood there to be no other option. Since diagnosis day, my sister has joined support groups and other neuroblastoma groups in an effort to gain as much worldly knowledge from those that have been there. This is how they learned of Memorial Sloan-Kettering in NYC. This is the number 1 neuroblastoma hospital in the country and their treatment plan doesn't include the transplant.

As a family we began to pray over this. With Hudson having one tumor we did not feel the transplant benefits outweighed the risks. After much research and talking with a multitude of families that have participated in the transplant- only one said they would do it again even though their child will need a kidney transplant before they turn 16. All the other families that did the transplant said they would never do it again. This helped Allyson and Bryan decided that they wanted to move forward with MSK in the state of New York.

MSK is located in New York City. This not convenient by any means. Taking him to the leading hospital for childhood cancer means frequent flights and long stays in NYC.
With hotels, food, and air fare expense will cost around $2,000 each treatment. Hudson will be in treatment until July if he responds well to the chemo. Each stay will be about 14 days this also will require Allyson and Bryan to be away from work for at least half of each month during this time.
Hudson is in a big fight and his mom and dad are taking him to the best of the best to get him healthy. Hudson will be turning 2 on February 23rd. He is a boy who radiates joy and confidence. He is often the one that is perhaps the strongest. Even on Hudson's sickest days he laughs and smiles. Allyson and Bryan find their own strength in their tough little boy.

They also have a caringbridge site for Hudson, (caringbridge.com/HudsonBierl)if you haven't been following but want to start I encourage you to find his page, she updates it frequently and posts pictures.

Allyson and Bryan, the Snyder and Bierl family want to thank you all for your prayers and support during this fight.

We have set a goal to help ease the financial burden they are facing. This gofundme will help tremendously.

May God bless you today and all your days.
Thank-you.
