Huddersfield Rising is a volunteer-led, community mural project bringing colour, pride and joy back to our neighbourhoods. The project has been created in response to conversations with local residents who want to see more life, creativity and positivity brought back to our neighbourhoods and hopefully our town centre also.
More than 500 people from across Kirklees have already shared ideas on where murals should go and what they should reflect. Respondents covered all ages, ethnicities and neighbourhoods. More than 97% of those surveyed said they were supportive of the project.
All funds raised will go directly towards creating high-quality, community-designed murals, paying artists fairly, and covering essential materials and access costs. It’s a low-cost, high-impact project that brings people together to celebrate our shared heritage and adds a bit more colour to daily life, in a way that genuinely makes people smile.
Even small donations help show how much this project is wanted, helping us unlock further funding and help take this to scale. Thank you!
