Help us bring colour, joy and unity to Huddersfield!

We’re Huddersfield Rising CIC, a community-led, non-profit organisation transforming run-down walls into large-scale murals that celebrate our town and the people who call it home.

We believe public art can bring people together, brighten everyday journeys and give communities something to feel proud of. We’re raising funds to create murals across Huddersfield and the wider Kirklees area—in schools, neighbourhoods and our town centre—with local people helping shape the designs.

Our first mural, “Reach for the Stars” at Spring Grove School, shows what we can achieve together. Created by Urban Canvas artists Anthony Donnelly and Steven Malcolm, it features pupils recognised for their kindness and resilience. It celebrates the potential of every child and shares a lasting message of encouragement with the whole community.

Now we want to build on that success and bring more murals to life.

Your donation will support our wider mural programme, helping us cover:

Wall preparation and repairs, giving dilapidated walls a fresh start.

Fair artist fees, supporting experienced mural artists and creating opportunities for local and emerging talent.

Paint, materials and access equipment, so each mural is carefully made to last.

Community consultation and creative workshops, giving residents a voice in the designs.

Hands-on opportunities for children and young people, helping them develop skills, confidence and pride in their community.

Each mural will reflect the voices, stories and aspirations of the people around it. We want residents of all ages and backgrounds to feel represented and welcome, and to have opportunities to take part.

Every donation, whatever its size, helps us move the project forward. Your support also helps demonstrate community backing when we apply for grants and approach potential partners.

If you can, please donate and share this page with friends, family or local businesses who might like to help.

Together, we can turn more run-down walls into something our communities can be proud of.

Thank you for supporting Huddersfield Rising.
