On Thursday November 8th many people of the city of Paradise found out that a fire had started in their town and they needed to evacuate. The Huckabee/Lee family consists of Michael Lee, Christin Huckabee-Lee, their two children Michael 2 and Willow 5 months, Christins brother Toddy Huckabee, her father Todd Huckabee and his live in girlfriend Jennie Foss. When Christin and Michael were looking to buy they had family in mind and purchased a property with two houses so her father and brother could be close. Among so many others, the Huckabee/Lee family had to pack up what they could and get out as fast as they could. Thankfully they are all together and safe. Their dogs are being boarded by one of the local vets. They are my family, Christin is my closest cousin only 3 months younger, I've known her my whole life. She has never been one to ask for a hand out. Everything this family has/had they worked hard for. As of right now we do not know the status of their houses but what we do know is that cal fire and the media aren't giving much hope. 95% of the town is gone. So for right now I am trying to take one less burden off their shoulders and asking for family and friends to please help make this displacement a tiny bit easier for them. This first goal of $4000 will go to helping out with normal bills, gas, food etc. Their Homeowners insurance does not cover loss of use so they WILL NOT be reimbursing living expenses, temporary housing, etc. Even though this family is in limbo the world is still turning.
