Since the mid-1960’s, Huby Playing Fields Association has overseen the playing fields and pavilion for the benefit of local residents and sports clubs. Over time the original pavilion fell into disrepair, the cricket and football teams moved away, and the villagers stopped using the facility, which was closed on health and safety grounds in 2020, and demolished in 2022.
The new committee set about fundraising and have, after 5 long years completed Phase 1, a fabulous looking watertight and secure building.
Our Junior football club has been re-energised, with numerous boys’ and girls’ teams at U5-U11 age groups, and we are in advanced talks with a local cricket club who need a second home to accommodate their thriving Junior and Ladies section.
Want to make a difference?
We are asking for donations to benefit Huby Playing Fields Association in our quest to complete the pavilion as soon as possible to allow all these clubs to have the home they deserve, and the village and wider area a new, fit-for-purpose venue to accommodate community events and social clubs.
Thanks in advance for supporting a cause and community that means so much to us.
