A tribute to Madison Lily Romero
Hello. My name is Cassie Rawls and I am writing this on me behalf of myself and Megan Wallace. We are both cousins to Jennifer Ward.
On February 26, the Romero/Ward family’s world was turned upside down when they suddenly lost their beloved daughter and sister Madison to what is believed to be complications of the flu/pneumonia. The unexpected death of a child is an unimaginable loss that no parent should ever have to experience and certainly one that we, as parents, are not prepared for.
Madison, or Maddy, as she was often called was a happy, sweet, spunky, loving, vivacious eight-year-old little girl with an infectious smile that could light up an entire room. She loved Frozen, glitter, and all things pink. She loved to sing, dance, draw, and paint. She loved playing soccer and was excited every day as she headed off to school. She loved to learn. Diagnosed with Apraxia (SPD & ADD) early on, Maddy was faced with some incredible learning challenges. Maddy was an Apraxia warrior and therefore conquered each and every challenge she faced. Maddy was not alone in her battle, her mother was with her every step of the way (as was her father) and was at each and every doctor/therapy appointment, and there were many. She spent several hours a week in therapy at CHKD, where she thrived with the support of the incredible staff of therapists, nurses, and doctors. Maddy touched the lives of each and every one of them and in many ways they were here family and CHKD was her home away from home.
Madison’s family is devastated and completely heartbroken by the loss of their precious daughter. Life as they knew it will never be the same. Madison will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her and the impact that she had on them will not be forgotten.
No one should have to think of expenses at a time like this. When tragedy strikes, families pull together and they immediately jump into help. Megan and I know that Jennifer and Brian were not prepared for the financial burden that comes with the loss of a child. We cannot bring their precious Maddy back, but we can ease their financial burden and allow them one less worry. This will allow them to put all of their focus into healing, finding peace, and ultimately accepting a life without Maddy in it. Please help the Romero/Ward family in their time of need to bring Madison home. This money will be used directly for cremation and celebration of life expenses.
Our family thanks you.
