A Journey of Love and Purpose

Hubert Leow was married to his beloved wife, Evelyn, for 36 beautiful years. My parents’ story began in Toronto, where they met and built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. Together, they raised four children and followed God’s call into full-time ministry, traveling across the United States to evangelize and serve wherever the Lord led them. Eventually, they settled in Florida, where they continued their soulwinning ministry and raised their family.

A Legacy of Compassion

Throughout their marriage, Hubert and Evelyn shared a deep desire to help those in need—especially the needy children and families in Evelyn’s rural hometown in the Philippines. In life’s most difficult seasons, God made a way for them to give, even when they had little themselves. In Hubert’s final weeks, during countless trips to dialysis and medical appointments, he often asked about the cost of returning to fulfill the mission God had placed on their hearts.

Health Challenges and Devotion

Hubert’s health began to decline several years ago. In 2019, he underwent open-heart bypass surgery in Louisiana—without any health insurance. During his recovery, Evelyn lovingly sought out holistic care, despite the financial strain it placed on their household. Her devotion never wavered.

Later, they moved to North Carolina to help care for Hubert’s aging mother. During this time, Hubert underwent two additional surgeries, followed by further procedures in Florida—again, all without medical insurance. At one point, even his dialysis treatments were not covered, compounding an already difficult financial situation.

A Caregiver’s Sacrifice

By God’s grace, Evelyn was able to step away from her job as a nurse to become Hubert’s full-time caregiver. She managed every detail of his care: driving him to dialysis three times a week, coordinating his medical appointments, preparing his meals, and maintaining their home. Her unwavering love and commitment were a reflection of their deep bond and shared faith.

Home with the Lord

On September 4th at 5:05 PM, Hubert went home to be with the Lord Jesus. While his passing brings profound sorrow, it also brings peace. He is now free from pain and illness made whole with a new heavenly body, and worshiping in glory.

Carrying the Mission Forward

As Evelyn grieves the loss of her husband and best friend, she is also preparing for the next chapter: returning to her hometown to fulfill the mission work she and Hubert carried in their hearts for decades. Before she can do so, she must resolve the remaining medical and personal expenses that have accumulated over the years.
